“Unwrap, Spot-on and Drop Off”
Akins High School home of the eagles, the eagles deserve better and you get better when you contribute to your home. Even when the day is at its end our permanent homes remain with rules, expectations leaving a value. What value do we leave at Akins High School? Slowly, we lose our manners and it's true.. Trash is seen everywhere! When you’ve taken the last bite of your best meal, candy, or snack you have some options to leave your area neat and clean.
First, we must understand the effects of littering and leaving behind trash the wrong way. You surely must’ve seen trash before at your homes… sometimes you even pick it up because simply you are the type of person that knows maybe one day you’ll have someone for a visit and you must have your area clean. When you keep yourself organized at home it's exactly like what we do at school such as: the recycling bins and trash bins. Why do these “bins” help or make a difference? Well the question is why don't we have more of these recycling and trash bins around campus, maybe then we could know and see the difference. As we walk we unwrap something you decide to eat.. Where do you throw it? To the ground and make it seem unnoticeable perhaps or… leave it up to your friend and he/she throws that piece of plastic to the trash bin. Today, we should imagine how clean and neat our school can be. With your help you only need to spot a recycling bin or trash can that will make our school a better place.
How great it is to imagine a better place for us, let’s make it happen! There are some points that can help you remember keeping your school a better place: : “Unwrap, spot-on, and drop-off” Unwrap whatever you are eating, spot-on a recycling bin or a trash can depending on what you are intaking and lastly drop-off your trash on the right bin. In our courtyard it is quite significant the amount of trash picked up… with more strict rules following up to a cleaner school then it could be an easier route to our goal! Some great motivation could be: whoever picks up the most trash out of a whole month they could do a trade for the hours that they missed and possibly avoid staying after school if it's impossible for them to come on after or before school.
In conclusion we must consider what a big impact does trash really does to our campus. Setting everything aside we do have some alternatives and easy ways to contribute to the best of what our nature can do instead of harming it… yes, trash could even harm the nature of what our campus provides. So remember these easy words unwrap, spot-on and drop-off! Make the decision as you would at your home, here at Akins High School we expect the same reality as you would when the day seems to end.
